  • Reminder of The National Lottery Community Fund changes

    Last year, The National Lottery Community Fund reviewed and tweaked its Improving Lives and Community-Led programmes to ensure funding met the current needs of people and communities in light of COVID-19 and was flexible enough to adapt to changing circumstances.

    A reminder of the key changes launched in December 2020 are set out below:

    • Organisations can include development/capacity building costs in applications e.g. staff training, redesign of services, adaptations.
    • Improving Lives (medium and large) programmes have now merged and changed the upper limit of the award to £200k.
    • Changed maximum duration of Improving Lives and Community-Led applications to 3 years (although they are also open to shorter/smaller scale applications).
    • Widened the range of what can be funded under Improving Lives.
    • The programmes can now fund activity to support people that experience discrimination and/or work to challenge discrimination.
    • The programmes can now fund activity that supports people facing financial hardship.
    • The programmes can now fund advice work, which they haven’t funded previously.
    • No changes to National Lottery Awards for All.

    Reporting can often be time consuming but is an important part of your relationship with a funder, and is also useful to your organisation as a way of evaluating and reflecting on your impact.
