LEAD Scotland - Online scams: How to spot them and what to do
Created: 27/01/2021LEAD Scotland is running online safety classes to give up-to-date advice and information about important topics like passwords, online scams and cyber attacks so you can feel more confident that you can use the internet while protecting yourself.
These classes are especially useful for disabled people but are open to everyone. The charity is also giving webinars for practitioners and organisations about how to give online safety information in an accessible manner.
Online scams: How to spot them and what to do.
It can be really hard to spot a scam that comes through your email or pops up when you’re on a website. Cyber criminals are constantly changing their scams to try to trick people and it can be difficult to stay updated on what to look out for. This webinar will provide an accessible introduction into the murky world of scams, both online and through email. LEAD Scotland will look at how we can identify scams, and what we can do to avoid scams in the first place. At the end of the webinar, there will be an optional practical element, where everyone can put into practice what they’ve learned in the webinar.
