We're asking Fifers to tell the story of their experience of living through the COVID-19 pandemic. Working closely with Fife Council and Fife’s Third Sector Strategy group, we're launching “Your Story, Your Community” and what Fifers tell us will help improve a wide range of both voluntary and public sector services in Fife for the future.

Kenny Murphy, FVA CEO said “We have been working with a number of partners in Fife to come up with an innovative way of learning from people about their experiences of dealing with the pandemic. We’ve seen a huge number of positive stories about communities, volunteers and people coming together, giving up their time to help others, and making their communities stronger to deal with the pandemic crisis.”

Kenny went on to say “We’re interested in how individuals and community groups working alongside public services found new solutions together. We’d like to understand how these connections formed and what impact it had. These stories will tell us how public services can work better with, and for, people in Fife.

Visit our website and tell us your story at www.fva.org/stories., or scan this QR code with your smart phone."

The ‘Your Story, Your Community’ project will provide an opportunity to understand where community service delivery worked well and where it mattered most. By understanding what was important to people, finding out what worked well and what not so well, we can build a detailed and valuable picture of service delivery in Fife. The information will be plotted and displayed and will support a partnership and citizen-centred approach to monitoring, evaluation, improvement and action.

If you know of a volunteer, organisation, public sector worker or business who you believe went above and beyond in their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, you can now nominate them to receive a Fife Civic Recognition Award.
