FVA is delighted to welcome Neil Bird to the role of Head of Volunteering Development. Neil replaces Stephen Adamson who left recently to take up a role with Fife Council. Neil will lead a review of our volunteering development activity as well as play a key role in the senior management team at FVA.
Neil brings a wealth of strategy, policy and best practice experience of volunteering, volunteer management and organisational support, joining from Impact Funding Partners (formerly Voluntary Action Fund). Neil has a strong commitment to equality, having spent years working at a practical and policy level on a broad range of protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010.
Kenny Murphy, CEO, said “I’m really excited that we’ve been able to recruit somebody with incredible experience, skills and enthusiasm. Neil’s going to be a tremendous asset, not just for FVA, but for volunteering and volunteers in Fife. I look forward to working with him and his team over the coming weeks and months to continue to build on the wide range of work we do to develop, promote and support volunteering.”
Neil started last week and is already finding his feet and getting involved in the development of new activity: Neil said “I am delighted to have joined FVA and to be supporting volunteering across Fife. I am looking forward to meeting all our stakeholders in the New Year and to ensure that our volunteer development activities support opportunities for everyone to volunteer and experience the benefits that volunteering brings”
We’ll be introducing Neil to a range of partners and stakeholders over the coming weeks, but in the meantime getting in touch with him is easy: simply e-mail [email protected] or call 01333 433 651.
