  • Joseph Rowntree Foundation - Destitution in the UK series

    Created: 11/12/2020

Joseph Rowntree Foundation has published its third study in the Destitution in the UK series. The research  found that, even before COVID-19, destitution was rising across the UK. Now, more than 2 million families risk being pulled into "increasing, intensifying" levels of poverty.

JRF key recommendation is to make the £20 weekly uplift in Universal Credit (UC) and Working Tax Credit (WTC) permanent and extend this lifeline to those claiming legacy benefits.
