Participatory Budgeting (PB) is about local people having a direct say in how public money is spent.

A new resource which explores the evidence and ideas for carrying out participatory budgeting (PB) in schools.

Schools around the world are using PB to engage students, parents, communities, educators, and staff in deciding how to spend a part of the school budget.

This resource presents insights into where PB has been used successfully in schools across Scotland and the world, demonstrating the impact it has in:

    • Deepening democracy and participation.
    • Addressing inequalities.
    • Strengthening school and wider community involvement.
    • Developing student’s life skills.

With more than 25 case studies, videos and links, this resource brings together a wealth of information and evidence to demonstrate PB's impact in schools.
