Carers UK has published its 'Caring behind closed doors: six months on' report which examines the continued impact the pandemic is having on unpaid carers.

The research indicates that there is an additional 392,000 new carers in Scotland since the start of the pandemic. The impact of the pandemic is taking its toll on many carers with 78% said they were providing more care than before. About 80% of carers in Scotland have reported that the needs of the person they care for have increased since the pandemic. This is having a worrying impact on the health and wellbeing of carers in Scotland.
