    Created: 14/09/2020
    News/Events Category: Funding and Finance

    The UK Government's Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create new 6-month job placements for young people who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment. This funding will cover for each job placement:

    • 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week;
    • the associated employer National Insurance contributions; and
    • employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions.

    Who can apply?

    Any organisation, regardless of size, can apply for funding, and there is no limit on the number of six-month job placements you can request. However, any organisations that is employing less than 30 Kickstart roles will need to apply through an intermediary representative organisation. SCVO is able to act as a representative and support the submissions of applications.
