    PAMIS Digital Passports is a simple, easy to use, flick-through e-book that can be created and displayed on tablet devices, computers and phones. Each PAMIS passport contains information about one person and uses video, photography, sound and text to help that person express their needs. The passport is owned by the individual and is shared with those they need to communicate with. Examples of the practical uses of passport include:

    • enabling health care needs to be communicated in acute medical settings;
    • assisting people to express their choices; and
    • supporting care services to understand the needs of the individual.

    The initiation and development of the passport can come from family carers, paid carers, practitioners, and individuals themselves. Anyone who is interested in developing their own digital passport, or one for the person they support, please e-mail Catriona Jamieson from PAMIS.
