  • CARES funding available to help communities make a green recovery

    Created: 30/06/2020
    News/Events Category: Funding and Finance

The next funding round of the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewables Energy Scheme (CARES) is now open.

Communities, public sector organisations and rural businesses looking to make long term environmental changes and play a part in the green recovery after COVID-19 are encouraged to apply.

As Scotland starts to emerge from the COVID-19 crisis, there is an opportunity to focus on a green recovery by aiding economic activity that puts tackling climate change and our ambition to reach net zero at the heart of everything we do. The support that CARES offers to rural businesses, communities and third sector organisations is an integral part of this green recovery package

    Who can apply?

CARES funding is open to community organisations, national or regional non-profit organisations with charitable aims and objectives, faith groups, local authorities, housing associations and rural businesses. For further guidance on eligibility, click here.

    Deadline

Expressions of interest should be submitted by Wednesday 22 July. Feedback will be given, before a deadline for full applications on Wednesday 02 September. For more information, click here.
