  • Tablets and internet access - is this a priority?

    Created: 17/06/2020
    News/Events Category: General News

We're working with colleagues on Fife's Digital Participation Strategy Group to try to understand how big an issue the lack of internet access is having on our most vulnerable citizens, particularly during this pandemic.

We know quite a few organisations have received funding to give devices (laptops, tablets, smartphones, broadband connections etc.) to their service users. Is there still a demand?

We have an opportunity through Connecting Scotland and other avenues to get more devices, access and some basic setup help for vulnerable people in Fife.  We're looking to establish the scale, prioritise and provide some resource where possible to meet as much of this demand as we can.

We're looking to hear from organisations who think this is a problem and how many of their most vulnerable/shielding service users need this equipment. Please drop an e-mail to [email protected] just as soon as you can.
