FVA launches Helping Hand register to support Fifers through COVID-19 crisis
Created: 20/03/2020FVA and Fife Council have launched a service to help co-ordinate people and organisations offering aid and support to the vulnerable people in our communities amidst the COVID-19 outbreak. Through our new Helping Hand register, we will be able to signpost people to appropriate charities or community groups who are mobilising this informal volunteering. People can also tell us about somebody they know who will need some assistance during these difficult times.
All you have to do is complete a register form on our website at www.fva.org/pandemic ,or by e-mailing [email protected] , or calling 0800 389 6046 – clearly using our website will by the easiest and quickest option by some margin!
We will be updating our website with suitable guidance to help manage some of the risks and challenges associated with this type of informal volunteering; including how people can keep themselves and each other safe. There will be guidance for vulnerable people too, to try to reduce the risk of scams and other harm.
Finally, we will continue to develop our flu pandemic page and update it with new resources. Please do let us know of any resources we should add to the page, or share any feedback with us.
