    An introductory training course for new Volunteer Befrienders with seescape to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to carry out their role effectively.

    Outcomes:

    • Learn what the role of a befriender is and isn't;
    • Look at attitudes and values in befriending;
    • Give a brief overview of seescape services and sight loss;
    • 'Befriending in practice' - tools to enable you to carry out your role including practices, policies and ongoing support;
    • Follow up training Sighted Guide training also essential to undertaking the role.
