Our Job Start Payment is due to launch this spring 2020.
Job Start Payment is a one-off payment to help support young people in Scotland, who are on certain low income benefits and are moving into work after a period of unemployment. It’s a payment of £250, or £400 if the young person has responsibility for a child, to help with the costs of starting a new job.
Social Security Scotland [SSS] want to make sure both you and the organisations you support have all the relevant information you need about Job Start Payment before it launches. They will be running a series of roadshow events throughout February 2020 and March 2020, and would like to invite you to come along.
The roadshows are aimed at people who work with and support young people who may be entitled to claim Job Start Payment. They will provide you with information about eligibility and how clients can apply for the Job Start. They are free, but you will need to book a ticket through Eventbrite.
Tickets will be available on a first come first served basis.
