People's Pantry Leven and Kingdom Community Bank Team Up!
Created: 06/02/2020The People's Pantry in Leven and Kingdom Community Bank are working together to promote saving and financial inclusion with members of the Pantry.
This innovative new project, funded by Fife Council, allows members of the People's Pantry to pay £2 per week into a Community Bank savings account and get free access to the Pantry (which is normally £2 per week). Therefore, for no additional cost, members get full access to the Pantry and will have savings of over £50 after six months. The Council's funding ensures the Pantry still receives their money!
The People's Pantry is a project aimed at cutting food waste and single-use plastic in Levenmouth. People don't need to be referred, it's for everybody in the community and membership gives you access to a café for a free drink, pick n' mix food refill station (with daily essentials such as pasta, rice and coffee) and entry to a pantry with a wide range of foodstuffs. Visit their facebook page for more information.
Kingdom Community Bank is the largest credit union in Fife, helping people who live or work in Fife to save, budget and access affordable credit. All money saved with Kingdom is fully protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (exactly the same as mainstream banks). Kingdom operates from premises in Methilhill and Glenrothes and has more than a dozen access points across Fife. For more information visit www.kingdomcb.org.uk
