Inclusive Communication Event - Speech and Language Therapy
Created: 28/01/2020Fife's Speech and Language Therapy Service are running an 'Inclusive Communication Event' as a platform for people with communication difficulties to share their real-life experiences on living with their disability.
A lack of understanding and awareness into the impact communication difficulties can have on individuals lives has meant that many still consider it as a 'hidden disability'. Speech and Language Therapy Service invite organisations across Fife to attend this event, who wish to learn more about the daily life challenges of people with communication difficulties and discuss ideas for practical change. Organisations can then 'pledge' to adopt these changes and be better equipped to support any staff or volunteer who is a individual with communication difficulties. .
If you are interested in attending the event, please contact Lorna Nicholson, Speech and Language Therapy department, Cameron Hospital in the first instance.
