This event is being organised by Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol & Drugs

It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

In November 2018 Scottish Families welcomed the publication of Scotland’s new alcohol and drugs strategy - Rights, Respect and Recovery.

This brought with it an opportunity to transform Family Support across Scotland. The strategy’s vision of a right to health, and the right to a life free from the harms of alcohol and drugs is applied equally to people using alcohol and drugs and to their family members for the first time. Families now have the right to request support for themselves, and the right to be involved in their loved one’s treatment and support, as appropriate.

In response to this, Scottish Families has launched  My Family, My Rights, a programme of work to help ensure that the rights and commitments outlined in Rights, Respect and Recovery become a reality for families across Scotland. As part of this they have been undertaking a series of events, and their next event will be held in the Adam Smith Theatre, Kirkcaldy. Part of this event will be to introduce families to locally available services.

The event will start at 12 noon with lunch, then you'll be part of their Speed Dating session from 12.40pm-1.40pm where you’ll have the opportunity to tell groups of community members just how fantastic your service is, and how to access it. From 1.40pm-2.40pm, community members will be able to mingle and talk in more detail to services that are important to them.

To register for the event please e-mail [email protected] by Friday 31 January 2020.
