Forestry and Land Scotland - Volunteers Wanted
Created: 28/11/2019Forestry and Land Scotland are looking for volunteers up at Blairadam forest by Kelty from 21 November until 20 December.
They’ll only need about 2 people per day.
From 21 Nov until 29 Nov they’ll be de-bagging Christmas trees, lining them out in a field and decorating the depot. The jobs will be heavy lifting, manual handling, cutting holly and fir for decoration using hand tools such as bow saws and loppers.
From 02 Dec until 20 Dec they will be open to the public. The responsibilities will change to helping the customers choose their tree, bag it and carry it from the field to the till and to their car. Litter picking and keeping the Christmas tree field and depot tidy, restocking Christmas tree field and depot.
They can provide steel toe capped wellies, waterproof jackets and work gloves, teas, coffees. The volunteers need to wrap up warm, they will be outside most of the day whatever the weather, and bring a packed lunch. They will have to find their own way to Blairadam forest, KY4 0JQ.
The depot will be open from 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday, volunteers are welcome to do less than that if needs be to fit in with their other responsibilities.
