    Course Content

Whether you don't yet have any volunteers or have been working with volunteers for a while, getting these basics in place will reap great rewards. You'll be able to head off any issues with volunteers not understanding their responsibilities and you'll be clear about yours.

    Included in the course:

    • What is Volunteering?
    • What are the mutual rights and responsibilities of volunteers and organisations?
    • How can I include volunteering when strategic planning?
    • What is a volunteer policy and why do I need one?
    • What should I include in volunteer role descriptions?
    • What are volunteer agreements and why do I need them?
    • What is the Volunteer Friendly Award?

Here are some of the very positive comments made by previous participants, who attended this training recently.

    • "Informative"; "Fun"; "Informal", "Meeting others."
    • "Lots of interaction and time to share experiences"
    • "I like being... encouraged to find new ways of working with volunteers"
    • "Chance to reflect and look at how we can improve"
    • "Good to have time with team members to think about how we support our volunteers and focus on it without distractions".

    Who should attend

Anyone who has, or is expecting to have, responsibility for recruiting/managing volunteers in their organisation.

In order to offer places to as many organisations as possible, we are only able to offer two places on each date to members of the same organisation. If your organisation would like to send more than 2 people, please get in touch with us to discuss options.
