It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

Very few employers will operate a ‘zero tolerance’ attitude to employing people with convictions. It is more a question of where they draw their threshold or line. Sometimes this line is drawn where it is for very defensible reasons and other times perhaps there is room for a rethink.

This training aims to help delegates to:

    • Challenge their perceptions around employing someone with a conviction.
    • Develop their awareness of whether people with convictions are treated less favourable when looking for work.
    • Understand and use the tools developed by the Scotland Works for You alliance – the “central conversation” with the candidate and the concepts of proximity and desistance in the context of recruitment decisions.

This session – through facilitator input, case studies and practical application – will provide delegates with the knowledge and skills required when applying this methodology, which is a successful approach to defensible decision making that is currently in use with Disclosure Scotland’s Protection Unit.
