ADR Scotland is a partnership between the Scottish Government and the Scottish Centre for Administrative Data Research (based at the University of Edinburgh). It exists to ensure that data about life in Scotland (generated through the day-to-day work of public services such as the NHS, government departments and local authorities) is used effectively and responsibly, for the good of everyone.
A key part of that mission is ensuring they know and understand what the public feel about their plans and work. So they are looking for 8 – 12 people to join their panel and share their views on the issues and ethics around the future of administrative data, research using it, and how evidence can inform public policy. The panel will be a sounding board for ideas about new approaches, and help ensure that benefit to the public remains the driver for all new developments.
The panel will meet three to six times a year, and travel expenses and a small fee will be provided for each. They are keen to ensure their panel is as representative as possible, and would love to hear from people of all ages, backgrounds, interests and experiences who are interested.
