Cancelled - Completing the OSCR Annual Return Online
Created: 24/05/2019, Updated: 16/07/2019All Scottish registered charities need to submit an Annual Return to OSCR (the charity regulator in Scotland). This needs to be done online.
Many charity trustees have used OSCR Online to do this in recent years, but there are many who have not yet used the online system. This brief training session introduces trustees to OSCR Online and walks you through the process, pointing out common pitfalls and where to find the right information for each question. Completing the return can be tricky for some trustees, depending on the financial information and format you use. Our staff have been supporting trustees to submit their Annual Return for many years and can help make it less stressful.
Submitting the Annual Return is a legal requirement, and every charity must submit one within 9 months of their accounting year end. You must also submit (preferably online) your annual accounts, the Trustees' Annual Report and your external scrutiny report (produced by your auditor or independent examiner*). The training session covers how to submit these documents online too.
Our staff will be able to answer your questions and arrange additional support as required.
* Please note: FVA provides an independent examination service (starting at £30 and a maximum of £200) undertaken by trained, accredited staff to the standards required by OSCR. We see charities paying many hundreds, and in some cases, thousands of pounds for exactly the same thing we produce for no more than £200!
