  • Carers Act Transformation Support (CATS) Fund

    Created: 20/06/2018
    News/Events Category: Funding and Finance

A budget of around £500,000 has been set aside by the Scottish Government to provide funding to third sector organisations involved in the local implementation of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016.

The Carers Act Transformation Support (CATS) Fund is being managed by SCVO and will give third sector organisations with a role in the local rollout of the Act the opportunity to apply for small grants to improve their capacity to do so.

It is expected that transformation costs will centre on systems such as IT, accounting, data collection, data protection and recording and associated templates, paperwork and procedures.

The amount available for distribution via this grants programme for 2018/2019 is around £500,000, with grant awards of up to £10,000 available for single applications. Collaboration between organisations is welcome and larger awards will be considered where collaborative approaches demonstrate economies of scale, wider sector benefit and innovation.

Applications for the fund will close on 03 August with decisions expected in mid-August.
