About this opportunity:With funding from the Big Lottery, Clued Up was asked to support young people aged 12 - 18 living in Auchmuty, Glenrothes to engage in the Our Place process, build on their capacity to contribute to their community and help them be involved in creating a better place to live by developing youth facilities and a programme of learning activities based on what they need and want. This is where the Youth Auchmuty Project (YAP) was born.

YAP run activities on a Friday and Wednesday and they are seeking board members to help set up the Steering Group, ensuring the project is self-sustaining as well as continuing to provide support, security and opportunities for young people within Auchmuty. Using a youth-led approach, young people's opinions are valued giving them a sense of empowerment and increasing their ability to influence.

Director, Trustee, Board/Committee member or Governor?!

Organisations have different names for the volunteers who are responsible for the running of the organisation - some are called Board members, some are Committee members, some may use the word Director for example. Broadly speaking, they mean the same thing - the people at the top who are ultimately responsible! These are important roles (for which training and support is available) and without volunteers at board level voluntary sector organisations could not exist.
