Abbeyview Day Centre is a purpose-built day centre in the south-eastern part of Dunfermline. They provide daytime care and activities for up to 15 frail older people, five days a week. They have charitable status.
Do you have a few hours to spare to become a Volunteer Board Member to help run and direct how the charity is managed? Making adequately informed choices with your co - board members and making the most of your skills and experiences to help a local charity will make a difference to the local community.
Becoming a volunteer board member is a rewarding way to help your community which put you at the heart of the charity and its work, liaising with a team of likeminded people
Previous trustee/board member experience is not necessary as you will be provided with support and relevant training.
No details were provided about the training made available to volunteers. Please contact us to find out more.
The Volunteer must be prepared to meet up either through zoom or face to face meetings every 6 weeks for a few hours. Knowledge of care, community services or experience in care or financial knowledge would be an advantage. People with other or varied skills, experience and background will be considered.
Restrictions on who can volunteer
No restrictions were specified.
Currently meetings are held over zoom but in future meetings may be held within the Centre in Dunfermline.

Director, Trustee, Board/Committee member or Governor?!
Organisations have different names for the volunteers who are responsible for the running of the organisation - some are called Board members, some are Committee members, some may use the word Director for example. Broadly speaking, they mean the same thing - the people at the top who are ultimately responsible! These are important roles (for which training and support is available) and without volunteers at board level voluntary sector organisations could not exist.
