Largo Library and Community Hub has been operating since 2017 and is a small but thriving volunteer run library based in Lundin Links. It is a place where local people can socialise, attend events and film evenings and also use as a meeting place for activities. They are seeking a volunteer Treasurer to join their board of Trustees.
The Treasurer will be expected to review existing financial procedures, attend monthly meetings of the management committee, present a monthly report on Income and Expenditure, complete online banking transactions and oversee the bank account, make suggestions for funding options for projects and events, and assist in the preparation of annual accounts for independent examination. Your commitment will be about an hour per week, plus attendance at monthly board meetings, on the first Wednesday of the month from 10-11am.
The library is a much-loved community asset, and they are looking for someone to support their plans to make the best possible use of the space and local talent.
Please contact us to find out when this opportunity takes place.
The volunteer will be given ongoing training and support by the current Treasurer, who will remain involved in the library as a Trustee.

Director, Trustee, Board/Committee member or Governor?!
Organisations have different names for the volunteers who are responsible for the running of the organisation - some are called Board members, some are Committee members, some may use the word Director for example. Broadly speaking, they mean the same thing - the people at the top who are ultimately responsible! These are important roles (for which training and support is available) and without volunteers at board level voluntary sector organisations could not exist.
