    About this opportunity:Dunfermline Advocacy was established in 1992 and matches local volunteers with people in West Fife who are vulnerable, isolated and at risk of being excluded from their communities. It provides support, understanding and friendship and ensures that voices are heard and rights protected. It's all about local people who care, supporting local people who need us - friendship changing lives

    They are currently looking to recruit suitably interested and motivated individuals to join our Board of Trustees. Get in touch ASAP and by 31 May.

    The role of trustee is voluntary but offers an opportunity to support the great work of Dunfermline Advocacy and provide strategic guidance, governance and leadership to the Chief Executive and staff team.

    First and foremost they are looking for people who have a real desire to help others and to make a difference to the lives of those most vulnerable in West Fife. However, additional business, IT and fund raising skills would be an advantage too as well as 'get involved' attitude to ensure that the Board can provide strong support to the staff team. Be willing to attend around 6-8 meetings per year including quarterly Board meetings, business action groups and charity events.

    Takes place:

    Training provided:General induction to become familiar with organisation and its activities from Chief Executive and staff team. Familiarisation session(s) with Chair around workings of the Board and associated action groups. Voluntary attendance at the ongoing training sessions delivered for advocates by staff team.
    Experience required:The essential requirement is to have a genuine desire to help others; to make sure that the people they support have a voice; that their rights are protected; that they are not excluded nor isolated and can be as active in their local communities as they can and want to be. You should also be willing to support the Chair and Chief Executive to develop their service delivery, to provide support the staff team and to find new sources of funding.

    Travel DetailsTheir office address is 2 Halbeath Road, Dunfermline KY12 7QX All Board meetings and most events take place in the office and garden - currently all contact is remote, via Zoom. All current Trustees live in West Fife and it is hoped that any new Trustees
