Lucky Ewe is seeking to bring extra energy and perspective to its Trustee group as they grow this new educational charity in NE Fife. More here www.luckyewe.org.uk. They wish to recruit trustees who work well with others & have the experience & foresight to help steer them forward. They are interested in individuals with a financial, business development or farming background, but all volunteers will be kindly considered. Trustees who want to volunteer in practical tasks on the farm are also welcome. You should work well with the appointed staff. Trustees meet at least once a month, via Zoom if preferred. Each trustee needs to prepare for the monthly meeting, participate creatively in the meeting, give their best considered advice, and complete their accepted actions from the meeting in a timely way. Altogether a trustee should expect to give 5 hours per month to the charity, though they may choose to give more time. Meetings are set for Mondays.
The volunteer Trustee will have a guided tour of farm facilities, an in-depth discussion with one or more Trustees covering the aims and activities of the charity. A current Trustee will be appointed as a 'buddy' to the new start.
Essential skills: good communication, including email & Zoom, facility for working with others. Also useful: bookkeeping & accounts, project development, practical farming skills, sheep husbandry, dairying. Attitude: proactive and keen to see Lucky Ewe flourish. Also useful qualities: sympathetic to Lucky Ewe beneficiaries, community spirited. Individuals experienced in all walks of life are welcome.

Director, Trustee, Board/Committee member or Governor?!
Organisations have different names for the volunteers who are responsible for the running of the organisation - some are called Board members, some are Committee members, some may use the word Director for example. Broadly speaking, they mean the same thing - the people at the top who are ultimately responsible! These are important roles (for which training and support is available) and without volunteers at board level voluntary sector organisations could not exist.
