    About this opportunity:Home-Start offers one to one personalised support for parents with children under five. Home-Start places trained Volunteers alongside parents and support is provided for as long as the family need it. www.home-start-dunfermline.org.uk

    Trustees make up the governing body of Home-Start Dunfermline and have a responsibility to ensure that the charity's activities are carried out in accordance with the Trustee and Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.
    Trustees ensure that the organisation complies with requirements under both Charity and Company Laws, in addition to other laws such as Employment, Health & Safety etc. Board meetings are held bi-monthly and the Trustees take an active part in the discussions and decision-making.
    Free training on the Roles and Responsibilities of a Trustee is available from FVA.

    Training provided:Once a trustee has been elected they will work through the Home-Start induction programme. The programme will be supported, throughout, by the information and guidance within the Governance Handbook. Free training on the Roles and Responsibilities of a Trustee is available from FVA
    Experience required:Interest in family welfare, good communication, good team player. Trustees bring their own current skills and experience to the role. A full induction programme is in place.
