    About this opportunity:Youth 1st are seeking a treasurer to join our active and supportive Board of Trustees to oversee the charity's financial affairs. The Treasurer will work closely with the Management team to ensure effective financial procedures are in place. Youth 1st is the leading support agency for youth organisations, youth workers, youth groups, volunteers and young people in fife. We currently have approximately 6000 members throughout Fife attending over 175 different youth groups and organsiations. Most of our member groups are organised and run by volunteers. Youth 1st's Board our Trustees are enthusiastic about the benefits of community based youth work. They are dedicated to supporting the staff to drive forward an organisation that is at the forefront of improving youth work in Fife. The Treasurer will help to oversee the charity's financial affairs, ensuring they are legal, constitutional etc; ensure proper records are kept and that effective financial procedures are in place; oversee the charity's financial risk management process and report on the financial health to the Board of Trustees; oversee the production of necessary financial reports/returns, accounts and audits; work in partnership with the Operations Manager meeting at least monthly.

    Training provided:Induction when start and ongoing support and training as required.
    Experience required:Have a clear understanding of the Charity's vision and objectives; have knowledge and experience of current fundraising and finance practice relevant to voluntary and community organisations; proven ability to communicate and explain financial information to Board members and other stake holders; good financial and evaluation analysis skills demonstrating good judgement; good communication skills and enthusiasm for the role; accountancy qualification.
