Fife Women's Aid offer refuge, 1:1 support, group work, information, counselling, advocacy and befriending opportunities to women and their children who experience domestic abuse. They are currently based in Saltire House in Glenrothes although they provide services Fife wide. They are seeking to recruit new Trustees to their Board to enhance the skills and expertise of the present Board Members. The Board meets every 6 weeks on a Wednesday night for approximately 2 hours. Meetings take place in their office in Glenrothes. They are looking for individuals who feel they can bring their expertise to the Board in particular areas of finance, fundraising, strategic development, policy work, marketing, charity and family law, although any relevant skills would be welcome. There may be a requirement to attend a specific sub group meetings e.g.finance, strategy, policy, HR depending on experience.
Induction would include basic domestic abuse training and conferences via Scottish Womens Aid, FVAWP and other training agencies that new trustees can be booked on as and when available.
In-house training with support staff, seeing first hand the work that FWA are involved in.
FWA are looking for individuals who feel they can bring their expertise to the Board in particular areas of finance, fundraising, strategic development, policy work, marketing, charity and family law, although any relevant skills would be welcome.

Director, Trustee, Board/Committee member or Governor?!
