Cupar Youth Café is run as an independent project of Cupar YMCA and supported by Fife Council. Cupar Youth Café has been running nearly 20 years and we moved to our current premises in 2001. The organisation delivers community based youth work to the young people of North East Fife. Initially financed by Lloyds TSB who recently recognised our work by promoting a video on their website. Apart from local authority funding, grants have been received from a number of national and local organisations. Over the years, hundreds of local young people have benefited from the youth work, whether through our programmes such as music tutoring, cooking, computer coding and IT groups and general personal development. The management of Cupar Youth Café is conducted by local volunteers, who contribute to the overall management of the registered charity. The position of Treasurer is an important role, managing a budget of around £40,000 per year. This role includes preparing income and expenditure reports, managing salary payments and related tasks, signing cheques, liaising with the Youth Café Coordinator when needed and preparing annual accounts. The management committee meets once every 6 weeks and will have access to admin support within the of Cupar YMCA-YWCA.
