The Linda Tremble Foundation is seeking volunteer Board members to join an existing team of trustees in a forward looking and inclusive organisation. They are looking for dynamic individuals to join the Board of Directors in supporting the strategic direction and development of the organisation to provide support to people struggling with eating disorders and their families and carers’.
If you are interested in improving mental health and wellbeing then this would be a rewarding and exciting opportunity. The most important thing for their charity, and the entire reason for their existence, is helping people currently facing challenges with eating disorders to recover, and at the same time to support their families and carers. The Foundation can support them in the community and help to provide early intervention as well as supporting those who need support over the longer term, which can be for several years or longer.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to help other people where it is most needed, to learn and increase your transferable skills as a trustee and join a strong team of trustees and Development Manager with diverse and complementary skills.
All trustees will be required to complete the Volunteer Recruitment Process, which includes submitting an application form with two satisfactory references. After interview successful applicants will be invited to join our next trustee meeting in December.
All volunteers will receive ongoing help and support.
They are interested in hearing from individuals who share their vision for growing support in the community, and help them provide and build confidence, self-esteem, self-belief and support the journey to recovery. They would particularly welcome people with eating disorder awareness and mental health knowledge, but this is not essential
Director, Trustee, Board/Committee member or Governor?!
Organisations have different names for the volunteers who are responsible for the running of the organisation - some are called Board members, some are Committee members, some may use the word Director for example. Broadly speaking, they mean the same thing - the people at the top who are ultimately responsible! These are important roles (for which training and support is available) and without volunteers at board level voluntary sector organisations could not exist.
