About this opportunity:The Lochs is a new and developing charity supporting the mental health and wellbeing of people in our community through accessible counselling services. They require trustees to join their Board and guide the organisation as it grows. Trustees play a vital role in ensuring the charity is well-run, sustainable, and focused on its purpose.

They welcome individuals who are passionate about mental health and supporting others. No previous board experience is required—just a willingness to contribute your time, skills, and ideas. They are particularly interested in people with experience in areas such as governance, finance, mental health, legal or compliance, communications, community engagement, and digital systems, who can work collaboratively, bring thoughtful contributions, and are committed to making a difference. They value diversity and warmly encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a supportive board and have a meaningful impact in your community.

Director, Trustee, Board/Committee member or Governor?!

Organisations have different names for the volunteers who are responsible for the running of the organisation - some are called Board members, some are Committee members, some may use the word Director for example. Broadly speaking, they mean the same thing - the people at the top who are ultimately responsible! These are important roles (for which training and support is available) and without volunteers at board level voluntary sector organisations could not exist.
