About this opportunity:Fife Artistic Swimming Club's mission is to help members to develop fitness and life skills in a creative, friendly and supportive team environment. They're strong on fun, inclusion and teamwork.

They need a treasurer to manage their finances. They pay for pool hire plus odds and ends like music licence and so on, and their 30 members pay subs by standing order, and pay directly into the account for grading and competition fees.

As treasurer, you will keep an eye on bank account transactions, manage fees related to grades and competitions, handle the registration of members with Scottish Swimming, preparing accounts, dealing with the auditor and attending committee meetings to update the committee on the financial status of the club.

Takes place:Please contact us to find out when this opportunity takes place.
Training provided:They'll do an induction that goes through how they operate as a club, their ethos and the logistics of running their operations. They'll then go through financial processes. The chair and committee support the treasurer in their work. As well as regular informal check-ins, they have annual chats between the chair of the club and each volunteer that provide time to talk about support needs and how the postholder is feeling about their time spent with the club. Their club is supported by a Scottish Swimming Regional Swim Development Manager and they are available to support the post holder if they have any questions that are outwith the club's knowledge.

Director, Trustee, Board/Committee member or Governor?!

Organisations have different names for the volunteers who are responsible for the running of the organisation - some are called Board members, some are Committee members, some may use the word Director for example. Broadly speaking, they mean the same thing - the people at the top who are ultimately responsible! These are important roles (for which training and support is available) and without volunteers at board level voluntary sector organisations could not exist.
