The Scottish course trains tutors of lipreading to work with adults who have an acquired hearing loss whose preferred communication mode is speech.
This course has been developed in response to a perceived requirement to train tutors of lipreading in Scotland because of:
the increasing numbers of people of all ages who have an acquired hearing loss;
the current shortage of people with training and qualifications;
the need for a course that takes into account Scotland's unique geography, demography, culture and political structure.
