Last updated: 10/08/2026 (more than 1 month ago)When looking after someone else, it's important to take time to look after yourself. Taking a break from caring stops you from becoming exhausted. It also provides a continuation of effective support for the person you care for. There are different types of respite care and Leonard Cheshire support many people with varying needs. Respite care they provide includes: Longer-term placements at our nursing and residential services; Stays in services with current vacancies; Day centres that give people the chance to enjoy a day out, try a new activity or spend quality time with others. Leonard Cheshire's Referrals team can tell you about vacancies and services offering respite stays. Email for more information.
