Last updated: 22/10/2025 (more than 6 months ago)Elie & Earlsferry Community Council area extends from roughly Kincraig Point along the back road to Earlsferry then south of Broomlees to Bowhouse and roughly back to the Ruins of Newark castle on the coastal path.
Like all other community councils, it is the most local tier of statutory representation in Scotland. It bridges the gap between local authorities and communities, and helps to make public bodies aware of the opinions and needs of the communities it represents.
Its primary purpose is to ascertain and express the views of the community to the local authority and other public bodies. It also involves itself in a wide range of other activities including fundraising, organising community events, undertaking environmental and educational projects and much more.
