Cedar Project
Created/last updated: 08/02/2023Aims and objectives | Fife has been selected as one of three areas in Scotland to pilot an innovative project to help children and young people affected by domestic abuse - CEDAR (Children Experienciung Domestic Abuse Recovery) Project. This new project is based on a successful Canadian group work model. Children and young people attend a group with their peers. They will all have experienced domestic abuse in their families . At the group they have the chance to think about changes in their family, how to stay safe, and how they feel about what has happened to them. Mothers can also attend a group which can help them to understand the impact domestic abuse has had on their children and look at how they can best support them to recover from their experiences. The project is for children aged 4-16 years who have experience of domestic abuse. |
