Aims and objectives
Group's main aims are to work to improve, enhance and support the local activities during the winter and Christmas periods while retaining the local history and culture; ensure benefit for the wider community, through opportunities to participate in festivities during the Christmas period, with a view to improving the quality of life of people in the interests of social welfare. The Group will take the opportunity to suggest ways of contributing to the enhancement of the local economy through the development of innovative marketing opportunities, working in partnership with the local business community. Fundamental to the success of the Festival Group are their efforts to encourage and develop local participation in the decision-making process and promotion of this community initiative. To do this the Group shall develop a Christmas programme of community activities throughout the month of December in partnership with the wider community.
