    Aims and objectivesBritish Orienteering is the national governing body for orienteering in the UK. Together with the Scottish Orienteering Association we are staging the World Championships in Trail Orienteering in June 2012 in the Dundee and Fife area.

    Trail orienteering is a form of the sport in which disabled and able-bodied athletes can compete on equal terms, because the physical aspect of orienteering is removed and the focus is on detailed and accurate map and terrain interpretation.

    As at March 2012, just under 100 competitors from 21 countries have entered the Championships.
