  • Hijama Clinic Service

Provided by West Fife Islamic Education and Welfare Centre Ltd

Last updated: 29/04/2026 (more than 3 months ago)

Hijama, a practice widely accepted in Islam, is among the most prevalent natural therapies globally. The term “Hijama” originates from “al-hajm,” which means sucking. “Al-hajam” refers to a cupper, while “Hijama” denotes the profession. In traditional medicine, Hijama therapy is renowned for balancing hormones, enhancing blood circulation, and boosting the immune system. It’s believed to address various conditions such as musculoskeletal pain, respiratory issues, digestive disorders, skin ailments, and fertility concerns. The optimal times for Hijama treatment are recommended as the 17th, 19th, or 21st of the month. GDM operates a hijama clinic fortnightly, see website for further information.
