A religious site since 1607, the Auld Kirk’s present structure dates from 1794. Unused as a church since 1979, it is an important local landmark, in particular its distinctive leaning clock tower. The Auld Kirk Charitable Trust acquired ownership of the Auld Kirk in Tayport from the Church of Scotland in 2006 for community use. They are seeking funding for the upkeep of the building and its refurbishment so that it can be put to the best use for the whole of Tayport. Local groups are encouraged to use the building and also to attend committee meetings. It is currently used for art exhibitions, musical events and other community activities. For further information about the work of the trust please contact the trust.
