Healthcare Improvement Scotland was commissioned by Scottish Government to develop standards to support domestic homicide and suicide reviews in Scotland.

The draft standards have been developed by a multidisciplinary group co-chaired by Professor John Devaney, Head of the School of Social and Political Science at the University of Edinburgh, and Dr Edward Doyle, Deputy Medical Director, NHS Lothian. The group brings together strategic and operational expertise from across health, social care, justice, and the third sector.

We are holding engagement sessions to seek feedback on the draft standards. This will give you the opportunity to help shape the development of the final DHSR standards.

Before attending, we encourage you to read the draft standards, which are available on our website.

You can also participate in the consultation by completing the online survey.

The consultation closes on Thursday 05 November 2026.

Access, dietary and other requirements. Please use the boxes above to tell us about any access, communication, dietary or other requirement, for yourself or anybody you are booking for. We will do our best to meet what you tell us, and we will get in touch if we think we might struggle to, or if we need to know a bit more.

Your place is not confirmed yet. When you submit this form we will e-mail you an acknowledgement of what you have told us. That is not a confirmation. We will look at the request and send a separate e-mail confirming or declining it, as soon as we can.

Terms and conditions. You can read them in full before you book.

Privacy. Submitting this form gives us your name, contact details and anything you have told us about your requirements. We use it only to organise, deliver and evaluate this event, and we share it only with the people running it. We will not add you to a mailing list or use it for anything else. What happens next

We will e-mail you as soon as you submit this form, confirming what you have told us. That is not a confirmed place. A second e-mail follows once a person here has checked and confirmed it — your place is confirmed when you receive that one.

Who can book

Most people at our events are staff, volunteers or committee members of community groups, social enterprises and voluntary organisations. We take bookings from public sector colleagues for almost everything, and from private sector businesses for some events.

If you are not part of an organisation, put Private Individual in the organisation box and we will get in touch before confirming.

Booking for other people

Give each person their own e-mail address if you can. Everything about the event goes to the person attending, and the link to change or cancel a place is personal to them.

Privacy

We collect personal data on this page. We use it only to run this event and to ask what you thought of it afterwards. We share it with the people organising and delivering the event, and nobody else. We will not add you to any mailing list or use it for anything else.

Anything you tell us in the requirements boxes – access, dietary or other needs – goes only to the people who need it to make the day work for you, and is not kept after the event has been evaluated.
